Christmas is next week. The dilemma I always have is whether to bring food to a family members house, and have Christmas over there... or invite everyone to my house. I prefer to have everyone come to me. I cook all the major dishes, as well as a lot of the side items. My mother will make some dressing and potato salad. My sister in law will make rice. The other ten foods will be prepared by me.
My big issue is transporting the food from house to house. Putting Juicy meats being put into Tupperware containers and praying they travel well is not for me. I have done it and I don't like it. I have a few family members to convince, but I am determined to have Christmas at home. Wish me luck.

Super Cool "Darth Vadar Waffle Maker" Great Gift for a Star Wars Foodie.
This Darth Vadar waffle maker makes waffles that look like Darth Vadar's helmet. The perfect gift for any foodie who also happens to be a Star Wars fan. my family watch Star Wars when the older kids were little. They knew more about the plot, the characters, and the script than a lot of twenty something adults.
I know some folks who would buy this waffle maker and not make waffles with it. It makes such a unique, awesome collectable. if there's a foodie or a Star Wars fan that will appreciate this item as a gift, order it right now before The Force Awakens comes out Dec 18th.

Go For It! Pour That Sugar.
I used to feel guilty about feeding my family sugary snacks around the holidays. After all, when you make cakes and icing from scratch, you know exactly how much how much of the sweet stuff is needed to make your treats yummy. I thank God for Sam's Club and Restaurant Depot where I can buy sugar, powered sugar, and brown sugar is very large amounts for a reasonable price.
Getting over the guilt: Rationalization. Yes, just like so many of us who tend to rationalize our behavior, even when acting inappropriately, I rationalized my sugar usage. The holidays only comes once a year. So what if there's a few days between Halloween and New Years when my family and friends will be gouging themselves with delicious, sweet foods. This is not the time eat responsibility. It will be January before we know it, and then it will be back to school for the kiddos, and life will return to the same routine. I think I owe it to my family to feed them delightful snacks for the rest of the month. Besides I can more than make up for it in 2016.

Grilling... Because I can.
Grilling outside is a passion of mine. Once I started I was amazed at how many different foods I could throw on the grill to give it that unique taste. Corn, just about every meat, pizza, avocado, bacon. The list goes on.
Living in Georgia is certainly a benefit when it comes to cooking outdoors. I'm not trying to run it in to those of you who live in colder climates. The weather today in Georgia reach a high of 66 degrees. Not bad for a December day. Even right now at 8:36pm, it is 49 degrees. Hopefully the nice weather will continue. I may break out some zucchini as a grilling experiment. Hmmmm.

Cute "Mini Whisk Keychain"
This adorable "Mini Whisk Keychain" is on my wish list. Whatever I don't get for Christmas, I'll buy myself. Anywho, this whisk is four inches long and attached to a keychain. The cool thing is it really works just like a regular whisk. It has two five star reviews on amazon.com.
Given its size, I'm not sure how well it will whisk anything thick like cake batter. However, I'm sure it will work on eggs and the like. If nothing else, it is a very cute item.
